In Medea's Land, Ancient Greek is Still Spoken....

In the Flower of Crimson and Coal, the antagonist is one of the most famous and complicated women of Greek Mythology - Medea.  A demigoddess in her own right, Medea sacrificed her family and her place in society for the love of Jason of the Argonauts. Without Medea, Jason never would have succeeded in obtaining the golden fleece. Despite all she sacrificed for Jason, he threw her over to marry the daughter of another King. In her revenge, she committed the unspeakable act - killing her children with Jason.

Medea, however, did not come from what we consider Greece. She lived in Colchis, modern Georgia, on the Black Sea. Yet, it is in Colchis that the Argonaut's language is still spoken:

Of course, Medea, as my antagonist ... well, we will be visiting her soon.....
